A Ballerina’s Tale is a feature documentary on African American ballerina Misty Copeland that examines her prodigious rise, her potentially career ending injury alongside themes of race and body image in the elite ballet world.

Copeland made history by becoming the first African-American female Principal dancer at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre in New York. She was discovered by San Pedro City Ballet Artist Director Cindy Bradley as a 13-year-old through one of SPCB’s outreach programs.
